Sunglasses you NEED for Summer

Summer is my Jam. Seriously. The only reason I continue to live in Texas is to experience 100 degree summers (I told David that Arizona is actually probably the perfect state for me because of the constant dry heat). Which means I look forward to summer ALL WINTER LONG. I am not one of those people who is like “omg yay fall with pumpkin lattes and 50 degree weather”. No. I leave that to my best friend (for some reason she likes seasons. weird.). I am one of those people who the first time it gets over 85 I am ecstatic, and the first time it drops below 80 I cry.

Needless to say, sunglasses are a big part of my life. With a sister-in-law who is an optometrist, shades are my thing. Each year I usually invest in 1 nice pair that I carry with me and wear on the regular, and 1 cheap pair for my boating/pool days when I don’t want to risk losing my nice pair.

Kate Spade

Last year I bought (and rocked) these. Aviators usually look SUPER weird and chunky on my face but these are just small enough and shaped well enough that they were super flattering. I highly Recommend.

This year, my mom bought me these and I LOVE them. My only complaint (and this is a total #firstworldproblem) is that there aren’t any grippy things on the bridge of the nose so if you turn super quick or put them on top of your head there is a high likelihood they fly off. Easy fix – add grippy things. Problem: laziness.

For my cheap pair this year I am LOVING these from Old Navy. I bought them on sale and they are super cute and flattering. Not to mention <$20 ($10 when I bought them). Super cute.

Hopefully this helps when shopping for your shades this summer! Some others I LOVE but haven’t purchased yet are:

  1. For the slipping sunnies go to a lenscrafter or somewhere and get them adjusted. It sounds like they might be too big or stretched out on you! Whenever I get mine refitted it’s a WORLD of difference.

      1. Pro tip tho: many places won’t adjust them if you didn’t get them there for risk of breaking them. Lenscrafter doesn’t seem to have that policy and the alterations are free! It’s a sure way to make me consider them when I’ll need eyeglasses about 20+ years from now!
